At Dreamhaven, we believe a smooth project starts with a clear process. Our approach is designed to give you confidence at every stage — from the first conversation to the moment you step into your finished space.

Step 1: Complimentary Consultation

Every project begins with a free 30-minute phone or virtual consultation.

This initial conversation allows us to:

  • Understand what you’re looking to accomplish

  • Discuss your goals, ideas, and priorities

  • Answer preliminary questions

  • Determine whether your project is a good fit

There’s no obligation — just a clear, honest discussion to get aligned.

Step 2: Preliminary Budget Guidance

After our initial conversation, we’ll provide a very rough cost range based on the scope discussed.

This early estimate is meant to:

  • Set realistic expectations

  • Help you determine whether the project aligns with your budget

  • Decide if it makes sense to move forward

If the estimated range feels comfortable, we’ll schedule the next step.

Step 3: On-Site Consultation & Evaluation

We then schedule an in-person, on-site consultation, priced at $150.

During this visit, we:

  • Review the space in detail

  • Take measurements and notes

  • Discuss materials, layout, and logistics

  • Identify potential challenges or considerations

This $150 fee is fully credited toward your project if you choose to proceed with Dreamhaven.

 

Step 4: Detailed Proposal & Planning

Following the site visit, we prepare a comprehensive project package that includes:

  • A full, itemized price quotation

  • An approximate project timeline

  • A planned payment schedule tailored to your project

You’ll have the opportunity to review everything, ask questions, and make sure you’re comfortable before moving forward. Once approved and signed, we’re ready to begin.

 

Step 5: Payment Structure

Our projects operate on an incremental retainer-style payment plan, designed to align payments with progress.

Typically:

  • An initial ¼–½ project retainer is collected upfront

  • As those funds are nearly utilized, an additional ¼–½ payment is collected as outlined in your unique plan

This structure ensures:

  • Transparency

  • Fair progress-based funding

  • Smooth workflow without delays

Every payment schedule is clearly defined before work begins.

 

Step 6: Planning, Ordering & Scheduling

Once everything is approved:

  • Materials are ordered

  • Trades are scheduled

  • Timelines are coordinated

  • Your project officially moves into production

Throughout this phase, Dreamhaven manages the details so you don’t have to.

 

Step 7: From Vision to Reality

With planning complete and work underway, your vision begins to take shape.

This is where craftsmanship, coordination, and care come together — and where your house becomes something more.
